UNHSC
United Nations Historical Security Council
The United Nations Historical Security Council (UNHSC) is a simulation of the Security Council of the United Nations, which will be operating in a historical context around the time of the dissolution of the USSR. The UNHSC will be operating under the rules and procedures of the Security Council and replicating the structure and procedures of the real-life Security Council as closely as possible. Its debates and discussions are based on actual events and decisions of the Security Council in a particular period of the past. The UNHSC will be empowered to make decisions that are binding on all UN member states, and its mandate will be to take collective measures to prevent and respond to threats to international peace and security, including the proliferation of weapons of mass destruction, acts of terrorism, and armed conflicts. The UNHSC can take a range of measures to address security challenges, including the deployment of peacekeeping forces, the imposition of sanctions, and the authorization of the use of force. The UNHSC will also have the power to refer situations to the International Criminal Court and to establish international tribunals to prosecute individuals responsible for serious crimes, such as war crimes and genocide. It will be playing a crucial role in shaping the international response to security challenges and in promoting international peace and security.
